help with choosing the right oil for my s2k
[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]whats up guys, im new to this site and i was wondering if u could help me out with choosing the right oil for the sk2
i bought the car 2 months ago with 94k and now im at 96k and i would like to change the oil cuz the previous owner
drove it for a bit before i bought it from him, i have a heavy foot and rev the engine, i tried to look online to find
the info but people have different opinions and i got all mixed up and i just stopped. i would like to know what brand
should i use and what weight, and if u could just give a bit info why i should put that type of oil.

Any oil that is the right weight will be "fine" by todays standards. Oil has come leaps and bounds over the years. A good synthetic oil does not need to be changed until 6-7k miles on average(if you are mind boggled, send an oil sample to be analyzed to Blackstone labs)
Most people note that mobile 1 burns a lot in this car yet tons of people use.
Castrol Edge with Titanium(gold bottle, easily available at Wal-Mart) is very popular.
I ran that until I discovered Motul 300v but that oil is probably overkill for most. It is expensive at about 15 bucks a quart but shows not to shear down.
You cant really go wrong with anything these days.
This post will probably be moved to "under the hood" if you are looking for it since it is in the wrong section right now

Figure out on your own what's the best oil for you, your car, and the way you drive it. Do an OSI analysis for a few oil changes with different oils and see if your engine is getting the level of protection you want when operating in the real world. There are some good recommendations here, but if you find a cheaper oil provides a comparable or better level of protection, the analysis could end up paying for itself.
