Default Hondata not supported

My ecu doesn't support the flashpro software.

I own a MY06 (dbw) s2000 so was going to retune it using flashpro however after using the hondata website to check my ecu number for compatibility and contacting hondata themselves it has been confirmed that my ecu is not supported.

My question is what other tuning options are therefore available?

Thanks in advance.

Ok thanks will have a look. Cant understand why its not supported because it is a MY06. Drive by wire and so should be supported by Hondata flashpro they have however confirmed that it is not supported.

Exactly mate. Bit annoyed. Will have to look at other options but have little to no knowledge of remapping hence the post, would appreciate feedback.

Cheers.

What about swapping to a compatible ECU that would still work for your car? Would an American one with flashpro be able to run the car just the same?

I imagine so, I just cant understand the problem its not like it is an aftermarket ECU it is the original one fitted in a MY06 Honda S2000.

Very Annoying!

What country are you in? I wouldn't have thought that makes a difference, but apparently that is the reason?

I got to the bottom of this. I am in the UK but the car spent a bit of times in South Africa (previous owner) so is technically an import even though originally from UK, import - export, the ECU is South African so at some stage it must have been changed. Hence the none-compatibility and Hondata are refusing to release software for it. Aresholes! haha

Solution, I am buying an OEM ECU from a post 2006 Honda S2000 and have checked compatibility off the website.

I do not think your criticism of Hondata is justified (let along calling them 'arseholes').

It is not a simple matter of Hondata 'refusing to release software' for your ECU; what you are asking for is for Hondata to develop a solution for your ECU. The Hondata S2000 FlashPro page and website accurately list what ECUs are supported - which do not include the South African ECU.

Developing FlashPro for the South African ECU is problem a couple of orders of magnitude more expensive than you might think, certainly not a trivial or easy change to make.

I hope that it works out for you.
