Hondata not supported

the ECU is South African so at some stage it must have been changed. Hence the none-compatibility and Hondata are refusing to release software for it. Aresholes! haha
It is not a simple matter of Hondata 'refusing to release software' for your ECU; what you are asking for is for Hondata to develop a solution for your ECU. The Hondata S2000 FlashPro page and website accurately list what ECUs are supported - which do not include the South African ECU.
Developing FlashPro for the South African ECU is problem a couple of orders of magnitude more expensive than you might think, certainly not a trivial or easy change to make.
I hope that it works out for you.
My reason for calling them "arseholes" was not there refusal to release software it was the refusal to offer advice or give any sort of reasoning after all it was customer 'services' I was speaking to.
Anyway you learn from your mistakes, I have now order a new ECU which I have checked for compatibility so everything should be ok this time round.
So you expected Hondata to figure out the car had a history that included export to a country where the ecu wasn't supported by Flashpro, the ecu failed so was changed to that local markets ecu, then reimported to the original country, but now with an incompatible ecu? And you thought it reasonable for them to figure out all this just based on the fact that the software said it was incompatible even though it shouldn't be?
This seems like an episode of Dr. House (US TV program) where they are trying to make a diagnosis, but they are missing key info that is not made available at first. Only once the missing detail emerges does it all make sense and a fairly simple remedy is found.
In the show no one ever asks why the Dr.'s couldn't have figured it out without the missing info or couldn't have guessed at the missing info.

I'll admit I made the age old mistake "you should never assume" in hindsight it was a bad call but had no reason to doubt a UK car would have a UK ECU I don't believe that is unreasonable do you?
On a side not I will have to watch this 'House' see what the fuss is about.
