Is the test pipe really necessary?? I am thinking about getting the flashpro down the line with just HKS dual and K&N FIPK with rest of the car being stock. Any thoughts??

The canned calibrations are just starting points anyway. If I had an F20, I'd still try out the provided cals.

I have a question about resetting the cel with the flashpro. Does it automatically go away after you start a calibration or do you have to select something in the options before you set your calibration?

I have a CAI...header...70mm tp and SE dual exhaust. I was using the Toda calibration and yesterday switch over to the Mugen calibration since I didnt want my vtec engagement to be so low.

The Mugen calibration feels good up top but the Toda calibration did feel a bit smoother thru out the rpms.

I'm wodering if I can higher the vtec engagement on the Toda calibration and see how the reacts to my car

i ran the toda reflash with just a tp and it was just find. All the tune is - a lower vtec, higher rev limit and a/f tuned to match the changes. The real key is tuning the a/f to match your car and the vtec/rev changes. i'm running i/h/tp/e and settled on a 4,800 vtec. keep in mind the ap2's low cam is really good down low <5k.

Not necessary at all, but if you want to run something like the Toda tune it will be necessary it makes a huge difference. You could run without the TP and do a custom tune as well lots of options with flashpro.

I have just the K&N FIPK and stock cat/exhaust/everything else for now.

Tried using the AEM v2 tune. Car felt way better with the lower vtec point. But I went out and drove around for 20 mins and I got 5 knocks. 3 from medium hard driving up around 5-7k, and twice when i used launch control set at 4500. Im guessing 5 knocks is bad?

I went back to stock tune and did a similar drive w. launch control at 4400. Only 2 knocks this time, once while doing a launch, and the other just randomly in the drive.

Got a track event coming up in 2 weeks so I feel like I need to get zero knocks, but dont REALLY know what I'm doing. I was thinking of just doing an evans e-tune or something, but I had been holding off until i get the rest of the exhaust, but now thinking safer is better.

Does anyone happen to have a tune for a FIPK alone. Maybe something leaning a bit conservative? Or should I just find some money for an E-tune? Or is there something else I'm not thinking of?
