Default NEO Initial Setup

Picked up a used VAFC Neo, I am going to get a tune on Saturday, but I need to get everything plugged in and make sure it is working before then. I have a 2001. Assuming it still has the old owners settings I will first initialize the unit to return it to factory settings. Next I need to do the initial setup:

-Vtec control on
-set to pro mode
-4 cylinders
-go through the throttle setting process (my understanding that I do a throttle fully open/fully closed process to determine voltage?)
-pressure type is sensor 6 in and 6 out

This should complete the initial setting. Next I will need to set vtec, I was going to stick with stock till the tune, so 6000 for both high and low?

There also seems to be a high/low throttle % setting, what should I set that to? Any other settings I need to make to keep it stock until I get my tune Saturday?

Also I kinda wanted to hide the unit and wires as best as possible, where are some of you guys running things to?

Since its used, assuming off another s2k, all the set up procedure should be set. Easiest thing to do then so you don't have to start over with the process, would be to just zero out all the fuel correction. Stock vtec engagement is 5850 not 6k. If the neo cant do 50rpm correction points like the vafc2 cant then set it to 5800rpm. The low cam should be set 100rpm less for now. Throttle percentage engagement of vtec should be set around 60% to be on the safe side. You won't get 100% transparency with this unit plugged in, but it will be close, the main thing is that there are no fuel corrections and vtec is near stock.

Thanks, I already initialized it before I read the response. I went through the setup process. The only thing I was confused about was the throttle type, I think it is the up and to the right arrow? I got a CEL right away when I started it up. The first place I went was the VTEC setting and it was defaulted stupid low (like 3000). I raised it to 6000 and 6100 (I will reset to what you have above tomorrow), cleared the CEL and started it back up. The CEL never came back. Since I literally only had it on for a couple seconds I doubt anything could have been effected.

When you say 60%, which throttle setting, there is a high and low setting. Default was like 10% low 50% high???

These will help you. These are my settings after getting tuned, mods are listed at the top of the page. I would suggest leaving your fuel corrections blank and setting your VTEC settings to the stock settings as Junky suggest.

What exactly did they tune? It looks like they added air (thats what negative percentage means right?) at 8500 and 9000 and lowered vtec but no fuel corrections from lowered vtec to 5850? When I lowered vtec even without a wideband I felt like the car was leaning out or not getting enough fuel from lowered vtec to 5850 because thats when the ecu changes over the a/f ratio. Atleast thats what I'm guessing is happening by reading the vtec monitor.

He has a 2000, which ran rich right out of the box, as did 2001s

You are correct, the only real changes were to lower VTEC to 5k (which was conservative, and I still had a cat at the time) and lean out the top end. The AFC's can't add fuel, so even if you were leaning out around the VTEC point you can't use the AFC to correct that. We tinkered with the VTEC mismatch option to no avail. A/F curve looked fine and the power curve smoothed out substantially so I was happy. I shouldn't even call it a "tune"... more of just a few dyno pulls to verify nothing was wacky.
