I'm interested to hear more about OBDII not holding a tune. I would like to understand why this may happen.

x2

I'll probably search for it at some point but this is my one day off this week. I have more important things to do.

There's a reason a car that was produced for 8 years was never converted to Obd1 - because there was and never will be a need to. If you want s300, get kpro or flash pro. They do 99% of everything s300 can do.

If it is some hacked together solution, it won't hold a tune

If its a standalone for the S, you would need to really break it or not install properly to get it to not hold a tune

Theres no reason obdii wont hold tune and obdi will, sounds like theres a makeshify solution if someone has an unnecessary hardon for obdi and an irrational fear of newer technology

you might feel high and mighty with your "new" technology but i feel that your lack of creativity is sad even though it might be the stupidest idea in the world it doesn't mean it should be discarded or not explored... i wonder what you would have said of running cast chinese suzuki vitara pistons on d16 for turbo applications... yet they make 400whp left and right... i have seen MANY performance cars with custom mounted distributors because of hondas easily tunable ECU's but hey why not use carb

Bahahaha the facepalm ish was mad funny bahaha.and no no dizzy. Now after gathering and gathering it seems to be this conclusion. You can't or shouldn't chip and tune an obd2 ecu like u can an obd1 ecu.when u do an obd2 car u need a piggyback or standalone.where obd1 u can run a chipped ecu and tune cheaper and easyer for alot of people vs a standalone w. Similar if not all benefits. When people do chip an obd2 ecu the reason it wont hold tune is cause it still retains the factory obd2 whateer and tries to correct itself because the tune placed onto the chip isn't right and thus wont hold the tune.

Im still trying to learn more on it.but it seems to be general concensus.

Ok, here's a scenario where what you said is completely wrong: someone with an 06+ s2000 gets flashpro and tunes it. Contrary to what the technology haters are telling you, the computer will do exactly what was programmed for as long as you leave it programmed that way. It has nothing to revert back to because you changed the programming.

another example: someone gets an rsx, and sends their ecu to hondata. Hondata opens the ecu and modifies/chips it, making it into a kpro. The kpro is then tuned. guess what the ecu is going to tell the car and what the car is going to do...

Exactly what was programmed!

you are getting a lot of different half assed ideas mixed up.
