^THIS.

Guys, why would you wanna downgrade. While you're converting your s2k to obd1, just go ahead and throw a b series in there too.

What are you talking about? What exactly do you mean by "won't hold a tune"?? What year prelude do you have? Must be a 4th gen cause my 5th gen is OBDII and I'm very thankful it is. As someone previously stated, the ONLY reason people convert OBDII preludes to OBDI is so they can use a honda ECU. Otherwise, OBDII owns. I've tuned both OBDI (97 F-350 that I converted from bank-to-bank to SEFI) and OBDII (97 Honda Prelude) and OBDII owns in every way. I'd recommend you learn more about tuning before asking questions like this...it's only making you look ignorant.

the only reason i see for someone to convert ANY car to a honda obd1 setup is accessibility, familiarity, price, and simpleness of using say neptune, crome, s300 etc.
is it a downgrade for an S2k probably but should it be explored? of course, it would be cool to make a cheap ecu conversion kit for the s2k.

Should it be explored? Why would you want to? Seems counter productive to downgrade. Honda made the swap for a reason. To top it off, the F20 is one of the best motors EVER mass produced.

For the whole carb comments, this would be the worst idea yet. Pick up an EFI book and be prepared to be amazed. They're garbage in comparison to multi-port fuel injection.

Seriously, OBD2 >> OBD1 on almost every car. I'm aware of very few tuning packages for OBD1 that are still maintained and can even begin to hold a candle to OBD2 for tuning, reliability, and cost. Different OBD2 years definitely have different tunability, but for the S2000 and many other cars, there are now great OBD2 options. Note, standalone computers alter this discussion.
