Default noob and flashpro

Okay so I ordered the new(er) Bluetooth ready flashpro today. I have ZERO clue what to do when I get it. I have several friends who have offered me their tunes as a base for my car (all of us are 06 s2ks with low miles (85-90k miles)). I've loaded one tune onto my car before for about twenty minutes as my friend wanted to show me what all could be done. How safe was using someone else's tune? What should I be careful of? Where can I get a reputable tune (I've seen gernbys name all over) and I'm basically using this as an improvement over stock for either auto x events or daily driving... I dislike dyno tuning unless its for refining something as I've seen to many cars blow up on dynos. Help.

I'm not going to do a thing until I'm 200% confident I'm doing it right

The preloaded maps included with the Flashpro are safe to run. I would stick with one of those until you save up for you very own full custom tune.

E-Tune.... Gernby is a good option if he isnt too busy... message him... if you dont have a test pipe or HFC, its not going to be a huge difference...best combo to wake up the midrange is test pipe and the flashpro.

Currently I have test pipe hks exhaust and k&n intake (not installed as I'm modifying the heat shield to be boxed in with duct work to bring in colder air like the ct engineering icebox)

I'm new at this as well.

Gernby tune starts with data logging 27 separate "runs" in 3d gear from 18 or 28 to 70 or 80 mph. Seven calibrations, three run each.

Finding the right road for me to run, stop and load another calibration, run some more is a challenge. And ya gotta remember to press the data log button too!

There are two diagnostic tunes (of the 7) he uses that should feel "like a Prius towing a boat." Didn't for me so I'm not even sure if I'm loading the calibrations right! Tedious job.

I may start from scratch tomorrow...

if the "Prius" maps didnt make the car feel like a turd, then you didnt load it correctly... theres a reason he says not to try to overtake traffic with this map hahaha i have some back roads at work that helped it out... sneak on to your local airport... that should make things really easy

So this one has a few tunes loaded as I've seen. I made sure its unlocked. Registered it to hondata and updated the software to most current... When I lock it to the vehicle do I have to load a tune then or can I just lock it and mess with the tunes later? There's one for an aem short ram.

All I want to do for now is have VTEC engage (safely) at 5k and make the Afr run closer to 13.75/1 my stock map is always putting the Afr into the 12.8/1 range and then over 3000rpm it skips back to 13.85/1 where it stays until redline.

Im not that proficient in the base maps or the tunes...but when i loaded the Toda Header map for Gernby to see the datalog, it showed detonation on my car... i just waited for his tune to be sent to be before i loaded any other maps...the base maps work, but unless you are in a rush, id wait for a correct tune...every car is different.
