You would not want to cut ignition instead of fuel, since that may fuel wash your cylinders, contaminate your oil, damage your catalytic converter, and create a lot of soot on your back bumper.
You would if you're trying to keep a turbo spooled

Yes back from the dead.
How would unignited fuel help keep a turbo spooled?

Its not about unignited fuel, its about retarding timing. Pulling timing increases EGT's which helps the turbo spin faster than normal, spooling it at launch or between shifts. The extra fuel is to keep everything from getting TOO hot to blow things up

That's interesting, but I don't see how it's on topic with the rev limiter. The stock rev limiter doesn't retard timing. It shuts fuel off completely.

Then I said

Making the point that a rev limiter that pulls timing is useful in many instances, just not for N/A cars.

And for the record, you'd have to dump MASSIVE amounts of fuel in a motor to fuel wash it. We're talking in the 7's and 8's AF. The chances of that happening are highly unlikely.

Hitting the rev limiter is bad - it puts a lot of stress on the engine.
Kpro docs state the launch control functions the same as the rev limiter...so is bouncing off that just as 'bad'?
And I'd still like an answer to this...

^ THIS. I use my launch limiter all the time. Is this bad?
