Default VTEC Solenoid Question - Spring and Plunger

Hello All!

Billman. I changed out my gaskets on the VTEC solenoid. While changing it, the spring and plunger rod fell out. I placed it back into the hole the correct way, spring on the bottom and plunger.

Is there anything else I should have done when placing the spring and plunger back inside the vtec solenoid? Please let me know ASAP! I don't want to hit VTEC until it's confirmed I put it back in the right way. Thanks!

That sounds extremely odd. I've never had anything fall out of both my OEM VTEC solenoids when I've removed and swapped them around multiple times. Even holding them upside down and dropping one of them on the floor by mistake, nothing fell out.

Shouldn't be any loose parts changing the VTEC solenoid gaskets.

Did you mean the timing chain tensioner (you mentioned Billman)?

There is a plunger and spring inside the vtec solenoid. It's located at the top of the vtec solenoid, after you remove the 3 bolts from the top. The plunger directs the oil into the correct section when VTEC is activated.
When you have time, unscrew the 3 bolts from the top of the VTEC solenoid. You will see the plunger, you can press it down. The spring under it will pop it back up.

Happy Thanksgiving all!

No doubt but is there a gasket inside that requires removing the top? That's what confused us (or me, anyway).
