Default 12 psi or not

I posted this in the ohio forum and just want to see what everyone else thinks? I have vortech with 12psi pulley and stock pulley along with EMS sitting under my bed. I can't decide which route to take? I haven't had a chance to ride in a vortech s2000 yet so I don't know what to expect. My bro has a turbo 350z putting near 420 on low boost. So I wanna be at least a couple of bus lengths behind him.....HAHA

So Should I

1. Install vortech kit with stock pulley, black box and call it a day for now. Sell the ems and pulley. Be safe, slow, and have more money for booze.

2. Trade the 12 psi pulley for something around 10psi, get bigger injectors and run ems. I don't really want to mess with the headgasket. Seems like a tough job.

3. Get injectors, headgasket and run 12psi pulley with ems right off the bat.
At this point I wonder if I should of just gone turbo?

I'm leaning towards option #1. I do drive the S daily during the summer. Regardless of what I do I still need to get it tuned, so add that cost into the equation.

Also I just got the AP2 banjo oil jet bolts and looking at getting the titanium bolts from racebolts.com for the Vtec solonoid. Any other bolts I should be upgrading? Should I do the plugs too? Any tips, feedback would be greatly appreciated....

I think you will be fine with the Vortech kit. If you put the 12 psi pulley on and a good tune you should be right with the 350z. I make 380whp at 10.2 psi

You must have bought the SC kit for a reason mate, ie. decided not to go turbo for a reason.

I would personally swap the 12psi pulley for a 10 and get it tuned with EMS, and dont bother with the HG. Seems like the sensible option for me bud.

Thanks for all the heads up guys... I got a good deal from a cool dude "Lilbastrd" so I couldn't resist. At first I was like I'll be happy with a stock vortech. Than it came with a 12psi pulley, than I came a across a smokin deal on a ems.... this site is like crack. It's taking me down.
I wanna be like batikan, but I have to take baby steps first...... turbo this winter? maybe

shawnAMT any problems pushing 10.2 psi on a stock headgasket?

If you don't want problems and lots of maintenance, I say stay away from Turbo. I was just joking. When I had Vortech Kit, I was pushing 11-12psi. I had a 3mm headgasket (which was not necessary) I made 355whp which is fast enough compared to stock. With a 10psi pulley and no headgasket, you should be making the same power.

Slap on at least 10 psi. You don't have to be in boost all the time . Or mash the throttle at every red light. Don't put on the stock pulley.

I am running all stock internals and no problem on my 10+ psi. I know people that don't have the HG, and done some internal work and push over 12, but the TUNE is KEY.

As for lag, lag until you get into boost..and RPM dependent.
