Still impatiently waiting for the new motor mounts to show up so I can wrap up the turbo install portion, then I’ll move onto adding the sensors and wiring.

I pulled out the CC bracket and removed the OEM coolant reservoir. I’ll be picking up the ballade CC relocation mount to get that out of the way.

im still deciding on what catch can setup to run. Im thinking the schmuck built setup with coolant reservoir.

So hard to wait for those little parts that seem to pop up in every install.

Is there a base map in your ecu? Good tuner nearby?

I will be running LinkECU tuned by Danny Flibotte (DM Performance) with an e-tune. Not many people locally know how to tune Link yet apparently.

in the meantime, I removed the OEM oil pressure sensor and test fit the link combo sensor. Just FYI the block is 1/8 BPST threaded so you’ll need the adapter in the photo.

after that I removed the OEM fuel rail and pulled the injectors. Initially I had planned on getting my OEM rail tapped for the AEM fuel pressure sensor, but I decided I’m going to buy the radium fuel rail and plumbing kit instead.

Oil temp accuracy is best when probe is in direct contact with oil flow, this will be at a dead end and might be off on temp.

I was thinking that too when i was messing with it. Is there another spot that you would suggest to use it?

external oil cooler feed or return line. Otherwise only way to do it is if you put oil temp in oil pan and oil press in original oil pressure spot. I recommend remote mounting the oil pressure gauge with the SOS kit, or make your own.

Getting the downpipe on was an absolute PITA. By far the hardest part of the job yet.

The instructions call for mounting and securing the manifold and turbo, then moving into the downpipe install.

I could not for the life of me access these 3 bolt holes.

I ended up using a long extension with flex head for the two in the first photo.

the last one is nearly impossible to reach.
I used a magnet tool to wiggle the bolt into location, then from the topside I reached a stubby ratchet box and wrench onto the bolt head purely by feel. It took me probably 3 hours to mount the downpipe.

I would suggest leaving the manifold loose and then working on the downpipe.

Also remove the cat to have more working room.

once the downpipe was done, I ran all the turbo coolant lines, oil filter relocation, oil feed, Mac boost solenoid, oil pressure/temp sensor, hot side intercooler piping, vacuum lines from the Mac solenoid, and test for the intake pipe and filter.

I will be installing the Billman TCT tomorrow and then reinstalling the vtec solenoid which will wrap up the actual turbo portion of the install.
