Default 2005 Vortech SC S2000.... what do you guys think?

Still in the market and came across this and wanted to see what you guys think...

It has 50k miles on it, one owner and has never been in any accidents. He said it dynoed at 389whp and wants 23k for it! (Seems a bit pricey but I am becoming in-need of a car)

...what do you guys think for someone who wants a fast Cali legal Ap2????

Here is a list of the car's upgrades:

- Vortech Supercharger @ 12 PSI
- Stage 2 Clutch
- Brembo Brake System
- Upgraded Headers
- Dual Exhaust System with original tips welded on
- Fuel Injectors
- Intake System
- Strut bars front and rear plus strut suspension bar
- Custom Rims

What model is this Vortech kit.... is it the most recommended kit?
And a 05 would need a AEM or rsx hondata ECU right???????

For that boost level, some form of EMS is needed. AEM, KPro, Greddy emanate, etc.

looks like it still has the 5th injector toughs kits came with would defiantly ask what kind of engine management the car has if its what came with the kit it might be suspect as the timing box that came with the vortech kit was not adjustable that i know i dont think it would support 12psi without standalone

I bought a 2004 with a Vortech kit on it (1k miles on the kit) and 34k on the odo October last year. He wanted $21.5k and I talked him down to $17.5k. Make an offer you're comfortable with. From what I understand he'd have to have engine management running 12PSI. Why he'd keep the 5th injector while running bigger injectors is beyond me. Maybe it's an old picture before he up'd the boost? You can tell what model Vortech kit by seeing if there's an oil line going to the engine or not.

Try to talk him down on the pricing. Anywhere from 17-20k is decent. but of course, the lower the pricing for you, the better.

I can guarantee that the car is not Cali legal, make sure to make that a major point when you try and deal him down.

Iv tried talking him down and he said the lowest he would go would be 22.6k, he has it priced at 23.5k. I know its not street legal but I just need it to have a carb sticker in hopes the PoPo wont look farther into it!

I asked him what EMS hes using and he gave me his mechanics number and said to call him... hes the one that did all the work

... So make sure its oil fed
... and ask why he still has the 5th injector (what is this, dont know about Vortech as much as Comptech)

.... you guys think this is too much for a 400whp s2k, It has a Brembo big brake kit up front as well... could always sell this to make some money back

Give him a reasonable offer but not his asking price of 22.6k. tell him good luck with his sale...let him try and sell the car with a "legal/legit" smog check prior to sale. It's not gonna happen. He'll need a smog hookup for that thing to pass. Give him some time and hit him up a few weeks later and tell him your offer still stands. He'll probably take it if it isn't sold by then.

You can sell the brakes for 1000-1500 used depending on condition.

The only problem is he's probably on these boards and reading all this. Lol.

It has been for sale for a few months now and he says he has a offer for 21700 but who knows if thats true.

Does the 05 have traction control or is that not till 06? What would you say a good condition 05 400whp is worth? I almost had a 06 with 320ish for 19.5k with a hard top. With he didnt sell this 2days before my trip up there
