3 inch exhaust help
Hey FI owners, need some info on the best way to go with a 3" exhaust setup. I know UR makes a 3inch catback...but that's all I've found. I'm looking into going custom, but not sure what muffler/s to use. I need a fairly quiet exhaust...any ideas? Oh..and the kicker...I'm broke so it has to be cheap...no $300 muffler...spending too much on the turbo setup

Kinda in the same boat as you actually, I am looking for a "Header back" 3 inch to bolt up to a comptech header and Spugen and Cjb80 have offered to make one for me in the $700.00 range - you can contact them or try and find a local shop to do the bends for you!

I went with the UR 3" setup. I'm happy with it ... the exhaust restriction that was showing up on the dyno is gone. Exhaust note is excellent and surprisingly not too loud.

Cheap and quiet don't really go together at all from a performance standpoint. Quiet and 3" piping is also a toughy.
The quietest turbo exhaust i've heard thus far would definately be the UR's. It would also help to specify how large of a diameter your downpipe is.

I wish some of the FL boys who heard my car would chime in; there is NO resonation in the cockpit of the car. On a 3200 mile road trip the exhaust NEVER got over-bearing.
The exhaust is VERY deep, but very well controlled. 3", Apexi N1 muffler, with 3" straight through Resonator. There is enough room to add 1-2 more resonators if desired, thatll only quiet the car down more.
I have an HPDE event this weekend that will involve plenty of video footage Hope to at least hang with a few 911 Turbos and the Vipers that will be there
