Angry 3rd wastegate/manifold seperation in 3 months

Pics of carnage added

I was driving from Boise to McCall, Idaho which is exactly a 100 mile trip. My boosted car lost the wastegate last time I went over 100 miles without a rest but that time was a drive with a lot of car club members and involved a lot of 6000+ rpm action. I figured I would take it easy this time since I had some buddies following me in a slightly less capable Ford Ranger. About 2/3 the way up I pulled off for a breather and to let my buddies catch up. When I got back on the road I let it fly to 9K rpm through 1, 2, and 3. It was my first time in vtec all day but it was enough to melt/break/push out the existing bolts and I new immediately why my car was a lot louder and much less powerful. Upon inspection it was obvious what the problem was. The wastegate was literally just sitting around in the engine bay. It wasn't connected to anything.

I was angry to say the least and really trapped since it was Saturday and nobody in McCall is doing a lot of repair work then. So I made the decision to put the car in the garage at my cabin and limp it home once the weekend was over. The drive home went as well as I could hope. To help under hood temps I popped the hood to let air blast in there. My exhaust was going out right at my fusebox, so I thought anything could help. The temps in my part of Idaho have been regularly over 100 degrees for the past couple weeks.

We made it home to find all that had melted, lots of connectors and things but I haven't had anything fail noticeably so they may still be working ok.

What I want to know from you guys is if anyone knows the thread count on the Tial flange. I wasn't expecting it to be threaded so if I get that I can go to my nuts and bolts store and get exactly what I need. I grade 8 bolt that can take the temps. Also, is there a slim metal gasket I should put between the wastegate and the flange? they don't seem to mate up very evenly with just me holding the part up there.

This picture is representative of my current install. Notice the flange between the wastegate and the manifold. It is threaded and I don't know the thread measurements so I can't go get a proper nut/bolt combo.

Dang man, I'm sorry to hear about your turbo 'woes'. I hope you get it all sorted out...it seems to be a pretty kickass setup you've got there.

the threads in all 35/38mm tial wg's is M8x1.25 thread pitch. don't force a 5/16"UNC in there or you will ruin the threads. there should be a gasket in there absolutely... but if you don't have one, pick up some high temp silcone gasket maker. it is called copper something or other... it is an orange colored paste. just smear it onto one of the flange faces before you bolt it up.

Update with pics

^can anyone else verify this? I just talked with my mechanic and he said there was no gasket between the flange and the wg, he did verify the 8x1.25 thread count though,

All Tial wastegate comes with a metal gasket and it should be used.
