It's not an S2000, but it's showing the difference between the two. The power level is low and I'm assuming that is the reason for the slower spool time with the larger exhaust. I'm sure once you reached above 500whp, the 4" would spool faster while yielding the top end gains.

sweet, GREAT info. SO thats 300whp...and a 4" exhaust STILL gains power and its pretty signifigant actually. Bstone...you around? LMAO

yeah im still here laughing at you

you dont think that 6 cylinder flows a bit more air than our cars, and that may be the reaosn it is helped with the 4 inch?

im losing interest. floyd you made me laugh a lot over the past few days. thank you

I highly doubt that a 994 anything, flows better than our car.

They are won with facts which i clearly stated and you said physics lie.
Just want to quickly chime in here. the one dude (i think it was momentum) said physics says X, but he didn't link to any journal/anything backing up those physics.

So when bstone says "check your physics" or whatever, that can be interpreted as, "provide some evidence showing that that's how physics say this situation would play out."

It's not "evidence" if you say "according to physics the sky is black", you have to show that physics (or whatever) supports that statement.

I'm not jumping in on either side of the argument, just trying to enlighten as to how something would actually be considered "evidence"

the exhaust doesnt care what engine is behind it, its still picked up whp @ 300whp. The engine is just an air pump, our f series air pumps are a lot more efficient than that porche 6 cylinder which means there could actually be more flow out of our exhausts which could mean bigger gains.

Well its common knowledge that a turbo wants backpressure to be as limited as possible. a 4" exhaust limits backpressure, allows the turbo to spool faster...making more power and torque across the whole powerband. Backpressure on a turbo car doesnt = torque it equals LOSS of torque.

I do know what your saying, and i agree. Its just simple logic that less backpressure = more power on a turbo car, and we all know how a turbo works.

^^^I agree, Turbo operates differently then a N/A or an SC car when exhaust is being considered. My post reply regarding exhaust should have defined this better since I am not a turbo guy, but my statements about exhaust pulse/deflection etc are I believe factual none the less, they just hold more value to SC or N/A application.

Why don't some of you guys just get a cut-out? This way your car can be quiet when you want it to, and when you want performance...............well it just doesn't get more efficient than a cut-out
