Default 70mm single exhaust = more psi

I used to see about 10.4 psi on the zeitronix gauge, tightened the belt up a few weeks ago and got about 11.3psi peak running a mugen exhaust.

Fitted a new J's 70 single last night and tonight I saw 12 psi.

Does that sound right.

More boost =

Yes because theres no more back pressure, I have the same thing but mines a problem because its adding to much boost to my greddy turbo kit with the stock head gasket.

All types of forced induction can only shove in as much air and fuel as can be let out the other side. Better exhaust = better intake = a little more psi. Think of it not as the supercharger working harder, but rather it's working the same but having an easier time because there isn't that .7psi worth of exhaust left in the cylinder.

Better have a word with the tuner when he's online, A/F's are ok but dunno about timing.

Touch wood I'll still be safe on my stock block.

Do you have a 3mm head gasket?? If not I'd consider getting one soon, though I hear for superchargers you're safer a little higher than turbos because you aren't reaching peak until later. Any FI guru's here than can verify this? Or anyone know about what the maximum safe boost on stock motor is? Turbo I hear around 10psi, any different for sc?

Hmmmm, not sure. Pressure is a result of resistance. You don't really want resistance you want to move cubic feet of air.

If your SC is pushing x cubic feet of air and meeting resistance it will show as more pressure (boost). If it sees less resistance it will show as less pressure.

Weird. With roots type superchargers, you always see reduced boost with increased exhaust efficiency. I'm not sure what centrifugals normally do.
