Default 70mm -vs- 80mm

hey guys, almost done with the piecing together of my turbo kit now. I have been thinking 80mm exhaust the whole time but really like the Greddy 70mm ti stainless exhaust that just came out. 70mm is 2.75 in and 80mm is just over 3 inches. I know the larger exhaust the better with a turbo but for now im not planning on going over 12psi and its gonna be a single exhaust either way. Do you guys think there would be a large difference between the 70mm and 80mm? I was thinking at that low of a boost level it would be maybe 5-10whp maybe even less. What do you guys think? Thanks!

It wont make that much of a difference at your power level. I have the Greddy TIC and love it, I highly recommend it.

yeah, i figured its not gonna be too big of a difference but my downpipe and testpipe are gonna be 3" too....hmm. Keep the thoughts coming. Maybe ill do a custom 3" exhaust with an hks ti muffler or something. I dunno, just really like the fit of the ti-c from greddy.

If you are considering 75mm, take a look at our system.

hey andy what did you end up doing. I am looking into either getting a 3" megan exhaust or the 70mm Greddy tic for my inline pro kit however I am on the fence. I have a 70mm test pipe and I may just keep that. Like you I am running low boost but I want to free up some hp from my stock exhaust. Personally I like the look and sound of the greddy over the megan but the megan is 3" though however it may not make much difference if I keep the 70mm testpipe huh. any input from people with these two exhausts would be appreciated.

I did a custom 3" stainless v band setup with a HKS Ti Muffler in 80mm. It sounds great, fit is perfect and the price was a LOT less than pre-made stuff.

Who else makes a 3inch exhaust besides megan, inline, or UR? The megan is the only reasonably priced one. It just has such a big angle. Does it have resonaters? What does the inline sell for?

Custom is expensive. Well to me at least. I have been quoted around 800-900.

3" or bust.

You may not gain much peak whp on your setup, but I can almost gurantee you will see an increase in spool and torque.
