Default advantages of getting rid of airpump / air control

What are the advantages of getting rid of the airpump system with an AEM EMS equipped car.

Currently im around 10psi (12psi pulley but boost loss through frontmout) and put down 380 whp with comptech S/C, laskey built head, cometic HG, custom frontmount, full exhaust and an EMS tune.

Will this help the "spool" time and help with boost loss if I remove the airpump and put a blockoff plate on?

Im pretty sure that no CEL will show up, now that im using the EMS.

1.Weight!!!

2. This is for emission's, so it is pointless to have IMHO if your boosting. There might be a bunch of tree hugging Honda owner's out there, but they are definitely not on this forum.

If you think about a EGR in the realm of having a built motor that you spent $$$$$$$$ to build, why would you want to pump dirty exhaust fumes through it. To me it seems like less room for clean air.

question that is sort of off topic but sort of on topic..

i know with EMS you can remove the EGR valve and the vac box and solenoid without throwing codes... do you think i can remove all of that egr crap on my kpro car and not throw a code?

and to the OP - another advantage to losing all the EGR stuff is it gives you a dedicated vac line off the manifold. you can run straight to a vac block and not have to worry about returning the vac lines to the air pump thing.

Performance gains? Simplicity to me is a gain, when removing unnecessary emission do-dads and having less to consider in the equation with these already complex system's we are altering from there original factory form.

Why not keep it as simple-stupid as possible, remove the unnecessary. Upgrade everything else.

But I ain't one to gossip, so you ain't heard nuttin from me!

Why would you remove such a marvelous system ? I'm in fact in the works of converting my S to a HYBRID! Take out all that "chassis stiffening" crap in the rear and it makes plenty of room for the extra batteries and electric motor!

You can remove it for weight savings. I removed all my emissions related looms, tubes, and canisters. It's not a lot of weight, but does clean up the bay a little.

Removing the pump and valve will do nothing for your spool time
