Default Advice/guidance needed

Hi all,

I'm seeing lots of options on here for forced induction, and i'm a bit lost... IE there's just TOOOO many options available.

Here's where I start, I was driving tuned diesels at 210HP, with 340lb's torque for about 8-10 years. I've got rid of the smoke machine for my little S earlier in the year, and I'm so chuffed with it. In a way so glad to be back in petrolhead land, but I so miss the torque.

My S is a UK RHD with 91K on the clock, on a 2003 AP1, with 17's, K&N FIPK and UK exhaust Mod, Oil Catch can. Everything else standard.

I'm looking into some form of forced induction (yeah I know I've read the advice, but I know what I'm after, just not sure what's needed)

I'm not aiming for masses of HP, 280-300bhp (240ish WHP?) will be more than enough for my needs, if I can also get over 200lb/ft torque, preferably upto the 240-250 area (standard is 160ftlb i think, I know 217nm)

I'm leaning towards supercharger. This isn't a race machine, it's a fun machine and occasional track day, and I use it on a daily basis, hence no big power hike. I'll be getting it all fitted and supplied, I look after not modify my cars.

1. What would be the easier option to install? Turbo or Supercharger? It doesn't matter either way, but I don't want Engine bay trimming to occur, If it can bolt into existing space then it's Ideal.

2. What hardware is required? Obviously the charger.
3. Pully's for super (i assume comes with kit), exhaust manifold? or would that just be for a turbo option?
4. K&N can stay but how about inlet manifold? I know many diesels need a new one with new/hybird turbos.
5. ECU? can the stock ECU be remapped or will I need a new one? Or should the stock suffice for these levels?

What other things are needed? Or is it altogether possible to get this power without Forced induction, and at a lower cost? would it be worth it?

I don't want a louder exhaust note, I'm already looking to muffle the tone, as it exceeded a local track's 88db limit. It would be nice to lower the noise to hear a nice whine of a supercharger too, but not too much.

Thanks for reading this meandering post, and thanks for any advice.
Anyone with Knowledge of UK suppliers who can carry out the job would be appreciated.
