I wrote out this long rant just now but I didnt want to go off topic. I use a GM boost control solenoid on my car...sure one of them failed but they usually work better than the GReddy solenoid and it's dirt cheap. However with a MAP sensor can leave you stranded so I put on a AEM 3.5bar.

I would just drill a hole put on some AN fittings to be fancy.

I was told by a guy from AEM that the sensor can be directly mounted to the manifold, although to keep it as vertical as possible because they are shock/vibration sensitive and can be damaged if mounted horizontally.

Damn, I doubt there is enough room above the IM to mount the AEM vertically.

I made a mounting plate and threaded it. Then for sheer aesthetics I connected a stainless line to it and used the AN fitting.

so with the GM MAP sensor, out of those 3 numbers 12223861, 12219935, 16040749 the AEM wizard says... which one should we use when typing in information?'

My other question is.... If i had the comptech ESM installed to prevent the stock ECU from seeing boost... would i have to uninstall that when i moved to the AEM with the GM Map sensor?

I replaced the front mounting tab for the fuel rail w/ a wider plate that i mounted the sensor to.

I'm bringing this back from the dead because I used the search and needed help installing the AEM 3.5 map sensor.

How is it that the sensor can be mounted vertically and not horizontally? On the side of my IM I have plenty of room to drill and tap (I have an O6). How is there going to be a difference in shock and vibration from being on the side of the IM oposed to the top unless the car vibrates side to side rather up and down but then its still vibrating the sensor. As is I don't have much in vacuum lines because my car is an 06 but I need to get it mounted and wired up before next monday because I'm tuning my car. Thanks!

^ think of the aem sensor as a clear vertivle tube filled with 3 eggs and in between the eggs a foam pad if you mount it verticle and the vibrations are mostly up and down from the raod surface the eggs will be fine.... but if you mount the tube of eggs horizontly now there is no foeam between the eggs and the sides of the tube thius vibrations will cause the egg to brkae sooner lol hope that is clear and you can understand what im talking about lol
