Default AEM Dyno Shaft

Just saw this on Autoblog. It claims to be able to measure HP / TQ off the transmission output shaft and transmit it to the EMS. Prices start at $1,160. Discuss!

I don't think it's worth the money.

It says you wanna keep track of the HP you gain from the mods you put on, but i know already when i mod my car, and it gets retuned, it's on a dyno. For people to do NA mods, i don't think people are still gonna pay for that thing just to see if their intake gained any hp.

Pretty expensive. I suppose if you do all your own tuning on the street, then it would be a fun gadget to have. I'd enjoy having it. Not for that kind of money though.

I was curious about this too.

I also wonder if the technology in this could be duplicated with cheaper part. Example (Mac solenoid for aem tru boost)
Curious to see if people fabricate their own, (assuming the technology might be found for far cheaper)

This is actually very reasonably priced. I have spent $5k+ for similar wireless strain setups for vehicle testing at my job....and some of those did not even work very well. Under $1200 is extremely cheap.
