AEM EMS 1052 FAILURE TO CONNECT
well yeah im surprised also but he said hes hasnt done that tune in a while but its so old aem 1052
I had the 1052 and continuously fought this issue. You have to have the right cable..they may all look the same, but they are not. I had a sacrificial burning of my cable when I got the AEM V2 or I would send you the one I had. I think I went through about 4 or 5 to get one that worked properly.
I also spent a day at a tuners shop in Richmond VA waiting on him to connect...he ended up having to go buy a laptop that had an older version of windows...it is just a pita.

Yup it's the cable. A cheap ebay one literally lasted 5 seconds for me. I got a proper one and it would work half the time. This sounds weird, but make sure your spark plugs are NOT the non-resistor kind. These are most commonly the cheap copper Ngk plugs from AutoZone for like $12 a set. The non resistor plugs I had caused all kinds of interference which would mess with the connecting of my AEM and my Kpro later on. After I swapped to resistor plugs, all these issues went away.
Good cord, good plugs. If it still doesn't work, call AEM, the unit may have something wrong with it
