AEM EMS Problem?
I started my car last night and the it was idling at 4500 rpm! I drove it in the morning to school and back and it was fine. My car probably sat in my drive way for about 3 hours before I started it up again. Now if i put it in first and let go of the clutch my car will start moving without me even stepping on the gas.
I checked my throttle cable and it was fine. Then someone said it might be a vacuum line that is damaged, but i couldn't find one that was damaged. The only thing I could think of is that it has to do with my EMS. I got it tuned at Church Automotive about a month ago and it was running perfect until yesterday.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?

4500 is high, but mine has idled as high as 2500. Check your coolant level. I don't know if it is related, but mine was really low, I filled it up and the car idled fine.
I checked my coolant level and it was fine. Then I checked the vacuum lines again and then the PVC valve and they were all good. Still idles at 4000 - 4500 rpm. However, I did notice that my oil was pretty low. What else could it be?
Best to connect AEMPro and see what's going on. Check that your throttle % is not abnormally high. Chances are, it's either that, or a vacuum leak causing the high idle. The EMS also won't be able to pull down the idle since it's no longer seeing idle criteria (usually under 2000rpm).

Alright, so I checked the vacuum lines again... everything looked fine. I started my car again and it was idling at 3500 rpm. I cleaned out the throttle body and it started to idle ok, around 1000 rpm. Then I took it around the block and the idle went up to 2250-2500 rpm. I tested the PVC valve and it was fine. So I decided to clean throttle body more but the idle stayed the same. I checked on my AEMPro and it said the "Idle Target" was 2300 rpm. Then once I started my car the "Idle Target" went down to 1100, but I was idling 2250-2500 rpm.
Do you have an experienced AEM tuner near you? Maybe you can have them take a look? Or maybe you can email your MAP to Inline or something and they might be able to take a look and fix the issue. GL man!
