Default AEM EMS timing sync

How many of you guys with AEM EMS sync the timing on the first instalation or there is no need to do that since it's a "plug and play" unit

Thanks

Always sync the timing when you first start working with the ems. And do the TPS setup too while your in there. I check my timing sync from time to time just to make sure it's still jived up. I've heard of cases where they've came 'unsynced' before.

You MUST always check sync with the timing locked at idle, and 6-8,000 rpm range. I have seen some s2000s with slightly offset timing that needed to be fix, as well as some s2000s with timing drift at high rpm. 90% of the cars the timing is spot on though and needs no additional adjustments made.

I got rid of my timing light years ago and had to go out and get another just to do this. Mine was close but I did need adjustment.

You definatly need to adjust the throttle also.

There's a test loop in the harness back by the firewall...
