Default AEM Fuel pressure regulator

Ok I made ~480 whp with my built engine with a Ptuning kit and GTX3076r 1.06 A/R hotside. i'm changing out some stuff and going for a retune soon hopefully.

I sold my ID2000s and bought ID1000s.
Swapping out my 1.06 A/R for a .82. The 1.06 is just soooo much slower to build boost.
and I am swapping out my dual walbros for much quieter 340lph pumps.

I have a IP fuel rail with a AEM adjustable FPR mounted on it and since I am switching to smaller ID1000s I am thinking I may just set the fuel pressure at a constant 80 psi with no vacuum line hooked up. With pressure at 80 psi it will make the ID1000s flow at 1345cc.

Has any one tried this with a AEM FPR? Is this even a good idea?

Tune will be 93 oct and hopefully e85.

nm, saw in your build thread. keep the 2000cc injectors. high fuel pressure leads to bad spray pattern and static spray, thats bad.

your setup will only be held back by fuel line size and maybe manifold efficiency.

remember, your base pressure is where you start, if you run 20psi of boost fuel pressure will climb by that so you would be at 100psi fuel pressure in boost! try base pressure at stock and see if you can make the pwoer you want with the dual pumps and the injectors.

you should def make 600 on e85, and prolly 700 on race gas. if not more. you will def make enough power with that setup to break trans/diff!!!!

disconnecting the vac line is a BAD idea.

remember, if you are running 80psi base, then you put 20psi of boost in the intake manifold, the boost is trying to keep the fuel from coming out.. so you effectively only have 60psi of fuel pressure.

what makes fuel come out is the pressure drop across the fuel injector.

that being said, you wont have any problems with the aem regulator.
