AEM Water/Methanol Injection
My bud Devin Pearce re-tuned the S2000 this weekend on AEM water/methanol injection. I think the car now pulls harder and runs better than it ever has -- and on pump gas. Many thanks to AEM for making it, Devin for tuning it, Carey Bales for helping me with the wiring and install and Pete Cozzolino at Cozzolino Motorsports for letting us use his dyno.
At 26 psi it made a little over 549whp and 381wtq on Pete's dyno Saturday. The waviness in the dyno graph below is a result of spinning my drag radials a little on the dyno haha.
The great thing about this system is that even at 26 pounds of boost the air intake temps were around 89 degrees (and falling) for the entire 26 psi pull. On C16 race gas (that now costs nearly $15.00 a gallon) on the street or track on a hot summer day we would see over 108+ degree IATs. The system is fully fail-safed into my AEM EMS so that if anything happens, boost and timing are automatically reduced.
We made 14 pulls on the dyno and then raged on the car on the street/highway confirming the tune (closed course -- do no try this at home
) and probably only used a quart of the 2 gallon 50/50 water meth in the tank, so a little goes a long way. I highly recommend this setup. It's awesome to be able to run this much boost safely on pump gas. Like anything else, just install it correctly and get it tuned.
A little vid.... Thanks to Bill @ Cozzolino's for sticking his face in there holding the optical tach pick up during that pull.

Meth works great. Nice AEM came out with a kit that is fail safe. I wouldnt run it in the past because if the pump failed there goes your motor. I spent alot on C16. If i ever go FI again i'm going to run this

I'm looking @ doing the same on a stock block/pistons.
Where did you get the meth setup & price?
Thanks.

how much hp did you make using the meth?? before and after dyno's???
On pump gas it made 453whp @ 16 psi.
The meth kit allows me to run 26 pounds on 93 octane pump gas.
Any details on the setup? When are you staring the meth injection and when are you injecting full psi? Are you controlling the meth injection with the AEM or just through the electronics provided in the kit? I am very interested in going this route, but I am looking for help in the setup specifics. Thanks in advance.
