Hi guys,i have the same problem..
I read this on another post...
""If the AEM EMS is a 30-1012 It may have to be sent back to aem to have the sensitivity raised on the Cam sensor I believe. I worked with aem a while back on this issue what happens is that during cranking the voltage will drop to low that the cam sensor signal isn't strong enough and will not see the reluctor wheel on the cam making the car never sync and never start. A real easy test to see if this is your problem next time it happens throw a battery charger on the car to bring up the voltage and the car will start right up. If it does this they will need to make a mod in the box to raise the sensitivity on the cam sensor.""
I have the 1012 unit and i have an optima RED TOP oversized one..
I see that when cranking the battery doesnt seem to have power to start the car...it feels like that when the car is hot.Any other time it cranks fast and fine and starts right up..but now when it wouldnt start the VOLTAGE at the BATTERY fell to 9-10V ...and when the IGN is on its at 11.5v with the Watter pump working for the Aftercooler.
i tried to abuse the battery to see how the voltage drops by turning the lights on,it fell to 11V and came back to 11.3-4 when the hid was warm, tried to abuse it with the power Windows by holding the button up or down when closed and it fell just a little at 11.2v or at times at 11v but when i crank it it wont start and the VOLTAGE is at 9-10v...
WHAT do i do..?I hate this.My car Dies when i press the gas at a Green light and wont start and imagine the embarrassment..i want to burn it that moment...Stupid small bugs...than i get out of the car and have to push it aside..
If somebody can help please do..
