Default Aftercooled Vortech Supercharger

Has anyone here known anyone that has done this or done it their self. I want to upgrade the heat exchanger that comes with the Vortech kit to a much larger heat exchanger. I would assume that since it is bigger that it will cool the water more efficently and help give me a denser charge of cool air. Will i make more HP doing this or is it a waste of time and money??

i have never seen the size of the one that comes with the vortech kit, but a lot of guys use the radiator from the scirroco (sp?) as a heat exchanger

Not really worth it IMO. The limiting factor appears to be the size of the heat exchanger within the aftercooler. It does look blingy though

It is a waste of time and money.

he would know......

but I was thinking about this too. its seems the stock Vortech unit can support plenty of power..

Sideways, have you done an back to back spirited runs in hot weather? have you noticed an power losses at high horsepower and high heat?

thanks

Never. It's a sealed system. The only time you'd have to add coolant is if it was leaking from somewhere.

You may have an internal leak - coolant loss into air stream.
