Default Aftermarket Fuel pump?

Hi guys,

Looking to buy an S2K next month and turbo it.

Currently have a 400bhp rotrex FN2.

Basically just wondering what aftermarket fuel pump fits the S2K... e.g. is it worth me keeping my walbro 255 from my fn2 for my S2k?

cheers.

A single Walbro 255 will be enough if you are looking to stay around the same power level as your previous car. Some of the higher HP guys can chime in and let you know around what power level you will have to start getting into a dual pump setup. Other aftermarket fuel pumps that are commonly used are the Aeromotive 340 and the Full Blown pumps (they have a 340 and a 290 I believe).

I recently switched from a Walbro 255 to an Aeromotive 340 and the Aeromotive seems to be a lot quieter in operation.

Thanks for the advice guys.

Do you know which one of the Wallbros is the fit? is it the GSSS42 (i believe) or the 41?

My car currently seems very quiet with the wallbro ; and my fuel tank is right under the centre console!

dont waste your money on the walbro. just buy the aeromotive 340 and be done with it. with as much as a pain the ass install the pump is youre going to hate yourself when you cant stand the whine of the walbro pump. do the install just once.

I had the Walbro 255 but thought it was the problem when I had some fuel issues. So I bought an Aeromotive 340. It's A LOT quieter than the Walbro! The pump wasn't the problem after all, but I'm still glad I changed the pump.

The noise described is purely a factor of the different designs. The Walbro 255 LPH pump uses a rotor impeller, the Aeromotive, AEM, etc. and rebranded pumps use a turbine impeller. The turbine design is more expensive, can move more volume is the same form factor, and is quieter. An alternative is the AEM pump, which is now available in a standard gasoline model, and E85 compliant version. They are reasonable in price, especially the E85 model. ScienceofSpeed now offers a terminal kit so the E85 model can be plug and play. Check out the write up on the installation of this pump as part of the ScienceofSpeed Return Fuel System Conversion to be posted later today.
