Default Aftermarket Radiator Clearance - Hitting IC piping

Hey guys,
I'm in the process of ordering a full blown radiator however I was told that the fan and radiator measures approx 4" in width after calling them. Currently I have the oem radiator with oem fans on a 2007 ap2 - the plastic housing on the fan hits the IC piping on the passenger side and I am wondering if I will have enough clearance to swap out to the fullblown?

I would simply take measurements but I am a couple hundred miles away from my car. The plan is to pickup my car and drive back since I've moved - however I am worried that my car will overheat with the oem radiator. It will be an 8 hour trip. Anyone with similar problems with IC piping hitting the oem rad fans? If you went with an aftermarket option that worked, please let me know!

Yeah, probably needs a slim fan. I have a Maradyne that's been working well for the last 2 years.

I also have that radiator, but with the slim fan it fits (on my setup anyway). It's a little close, but it fits.

My bro ther has this same exact problem. Any aluminum radiator such as the full blown/mishimoto/koyo are all about an inch thicker than stock. All these radiators will cause you can to stick out further. So it will not fit your radiator unless you run. A slim fan.

You have 2 options if you want to run a thicker aluminum radiator.

1. run a slim fan
2. Change the inter cooler piping to run into the headlight housing (inline pro style) and keep the stock fan.

I'd go with a set of slim fans.

i have a mishimoto xl radiator w/ shroud and slim fans for sale if you're interested.

that being said, your car should not over heat during your drive, assuming it's a casual drive
