Default Air Pump?

So I'm working on installing my turbo kit (with no instructions) with the help of some knowledgeable friends.

Only problem we've run into so far is, what do we do with the air pump? I'm talking about the one on the driver's side between the fender liner and the front bumper...

As I'm pretty sure is the case with all turbo kits for the s2000, the intercooler piping needs to run right through where the pump is... and I'm pretty positive it can't make it through while the air pump is in its OEM position...

I have the AEM EMS (1052U) so there aren't any codes to worry about if I removed it... but do I need it for anything? Can/should it be completely removed? What needs to be done to make that work?

Or should it just be relocated somewhere? If that's the case, then where how?

Thanks,
-Will

I removed mine. You would need it to pass inspection because it will throw a CEL when removed, but there are ways around that.

As I said, I have an AEM EMS. So no CELs of any kind. And no inspections here either... so nothing to worry about in regards to that.

I was just concerned that it did something important and needed to stay. Guess I was mistaken?

Not needed. The later cars don't even have it. As long as your using a stand alone EMS, you can toss it.

I thought it didnt matter, I've got a Kpro, & tossed my air pump.

I was told for emissions as well from Pfab, but is it really needed for the Kpro to function?
