I am currently running an intercooled 60-1 at 8psi. I have been looking at alcohol injection lately. These kits can be had for 250ish on up, and if they allow me to SAFELY turn up the boost a few psi I feel it's money well spent. Was wondering if anybody here is running alcohol injection, and if so, how much boost do you feel is safe on stock internals with the alcohol injection?

 

Tuning will allow you to turn up the boost safely, and after that tuning with racegas. I think alky injection is jumping the gun more than a little bit. Besides you should probbaly do something about that 11:1 compression before you start cranking up the boost too much higher.

 

That's the point of alcohol injection. Not only does it drop the charge-air temperature by a lot (due to the heat-stealing during evaporation), but the alcohol is in itself high octane and less prone to knock. The downside is that one have to depend on the system to do it's job or the engine blows (can to a certin degree be countered with a good EMS that will detect the lack of alcohol and lower the boost).
