Default Amsoil Severe Gear Oil?

Some info on it:

For all the boosted guys, think it'd help from grenading the rear diff?

Cheap enough to try in the trans.

Very interesting and worth looking into for a possible tranny fix for us high horsepower guys. May not eliminate breakage but could prolong the life of the tranny over using conventional tranny fluid.

Has anyone used this in the tranny that can give some feedback?

Is it safe to use in our trannies?

Good find! I'll need to investigate some more.

I'm going to call Amsoil tomorrow and talk to them about running this in the S tranny and if it's ok to use with synchro's. I'll post back on it tomorrow.

Ok, just got off the phone with a tech at Amsoil and this 250 gear lube is not recommended for our trannies. He says it's just too thick for the synchro mesh gears and it was specifically designed for rock crawling vehicles and drag cars. It's not recommended for street use as it's just too thick. He did recommend the Amsoil MTF for our trannies and said it is a synthetic lubricant and is designed to absorb some shock load to the gears. This being said, the Amsoil MTF will help some in saving our trannies, but stay away from the 250 gear oil.

ok this thread confuses me,

people use tranny and diff in the same context, aren't they different?

There is just no way you could use such thick lubricant in the transmission (it will blow up)

it could probably work in the diff. "could" but i'm not too sure.
