I would do it because the engine will never have a dry start, no need of a abv(Anti-Drain Back Valve) with a filter going straight down and I think filter changes would be less messy and you can find better filters(bigger, one that hold's up to two qt's.) with a 3/4"x16 thread.

Ok guys, I´m pretty much done. Had to custom make a few parts but turned out good.
It have to point forward but possible to adjust angle, here´s two examples:

Got a good inch room before hitting the crossmember.

Will also make a short of angled water pipe (above the adapter) to get the hose out of the way.

About the manifold, I run FullBlown tubular top mount and need to relocate.

Yes, just want to make a stop first, don´t want it to turn because of weight and vibrations.

The bad thing is the cost, paid close to 200 bucks to make this but well worth it for my build, will see what I can do.

If you leave the stock oil cooler on the block can you mount the Ford Racing Oil Filter Adapter to the oil cooler with the filter going straight down?

With another custom screw it would be possible to leave the oil cooler on the block, that´s also the only way to make it point down, will touch the block with the first version.

It´s not a Ford Racing adapter, found it at the local hydraulic shop.
