Default annoying technical issues

So somehow, i was driving on the road and i started to hear metal pices under the car (freeway). I pulled over and everything seemed fine as i strolled into work. After work, i start my car and notice a slightly larger vibration. Didnt think nothing of it, so just as i ease into reverse and back out, then put it in first to drive, my car feels like a fatty. Literally, i recognized the problem that my SC wasnt work nor was my godzilla BOV. Popped the hood and see that the belt fell off and just tangled. Easily brought it into the shop, and they figured out the problem almost instantly.

The charger pulley (or crank pulley) fell off cause the screws were somehow sheared off. The pulley split into two and just wouldnt work so the belt fell off. Just to fix this without any headaches, they ordered (the shop) me a new pulley and a new belt (which took forever to get!), and they isntalled it and it was fine.

I drive it off their lot and feel like it lost so much power overall. I bring it back in there and the coupler is almost off so i was running with leaks. The tighten the clamps and everything seemed to be fine.

BUT! the damn BOV isnt like how it used to be but thats fine. Ill just change it back to normal with the damn quiet diverter valve but the MAIN issue is as follows:

When everything was fine, the damn Check Engine Light pops up. I bring it back into the shop and it ran some code for not enough air and too much fuel. They forgot to reset it so it came up.

I drive for one day and it comes on again. I simply bring it back to their shop and same code. Since the fuel is way more than it needs right now, it might be damaging the spark plugs (which i dont mind since i need to change them to the IK24's anyways) but he said my spark plugs were still ok. they simply reset the code and everything was good.

I get the car back yesterday around 6pm, drive about 50 miles back to my school area and the car was fine. I wake up today morning to go to school, and warm up the engine. What do you know, the Check Engine Light pops up AGAIN.

Anyone know what kind of problem im running into? Simply bad luck for me and the s2k. All these problems emerging into my life makes me not want the s2k, but damn; i love this vehicle!

someone help me out, thanks

Might want to get it to a dyno, check the AF, and adjust the FPR (assuming your using that) so its not making it so pig rich that the CEL is turning on.

Just a thought

Who installed the charger? Sounds like install error possibly both times. First they sounds like they didnt tighten a bolt enough, second the s/c belt isnt tight enough. Result, loss in power, to much fuel in boost, not enough air, to rich, throw a cel. Not to say that Comptech parts are perfect, I just got a new FPR that had a bad O ring and leaked fuel everywhere.

Purchased from Gruppe-S but they couldnt fulfil the appointment so they transferred me to another shop the recommend for the same cost. My car was running fine (almost exactly a year since the charger was in) then BAM it just happened out of no where.

Never had a CEL come up until now. Pretty much everything was fine, til the point that the pulley broke off, and now that its fixed, the CEL comes on and its always the same reason of "not enough air/too much fuel".

Any other known similar problems?

Also has the MAP/ECU tweak been disturbed?

Make sure the ESM is solder and no connections have been tore up. This will throw the CEL and make it run like crap especially if your in boost. Also check the MAP sensor to make sure it is plugged in all the way, also clean and do a MAPwhack while ur at it.

dang this is so hard to judge, since im not too informed on FI stuff. I love the power and the sound and everything about it, but when it gets to technical terms i just dont know what to do.

Anyone in the bay area know where to bring this? I brought this to Trust Auto Performance and they seem reputable, but for some reason this is taking longer than expected.

i would bring it back to gruppe-s but they would charge me. I already changed the pulley at Trust auto so they would keep pulling the codes for free but im hoping they can fix it.

As for changing pulley during the isntall, would they need to take off other things to change the pulley? They keep informing me that they didnt touch anything else, but i wonder how this would change the fact of A/F mixture since im running into "not enough air" now all of a sudden.

Also, people said to check the MAP sensor but what would change the settings on it? When i was running without boost (when there was a problem) would the computer learn itself that there is too much fuel and that it would memorize it? Trust auto has told me that they resetted it so it should be fine.

This damn problem is bugging the bee-geesus out of me! AHH!!

Just came back from the shop and i got the code form their machine.

code 411 "Secondary air flow"

Now they want to hold the car for a day or two, so they can inspect it and see where the problem is generating from.

What possibly is the secondary air flow?

I asked him about the MAP sensor and he said thats not part of it, nor is my spark plugs or my cat being shot. Anyone else know?
