No signs. I even compression tested it a month ago and it had good numbers.

Sorry about your car, I agree and have been posting this for about 2 years, with a 3mm HG 20-21 psi or 500hp or what ever come first then stop. With the stock HG I would probably go no more than 14'ish psi or 500hp what ever comes first. Don't push it too much enjoy your car and don't blow your money. Good luck I am sure your gonna get it fixed. I just went out like your buddy and bought a bigger motor car, with the money and time you spend changing all this stuff out you could make payments or just purchase a larger engine car like a vet or stang, IMO. Do what ever makes you happy, just keep it reasonable and don't push the s2000 too much.

TJ, I am sorry to hear but lets face if we did not expect a failure we would be kidding ourselves. You can't Double or Tripple the factory power and expect everything to be factory reliable. It is a game how long will it last w/o major issues. I loved my S but I will never doing anything greater than a simple supercharger bolt on a 10-12PSI again. This seems to be about the point which the car can still be semi-reliable and be semi-fast and it does complement the car quite well.

Good Luck and hope it is not too bad.

I think it is time for you to buy a Vette ;-)

Oh yeah, I know. I was just hoping it'd last until winter when I could do some stuff to it, but having this happen kinda made me change how I view spending money on the car.

I've got the intake manifold off now and it looks like the oil is coming from around the headgasket on the intake side. I don't see any cracks or anything. The service manual doesn't say anything about keeping the timing chain suspended when removing the head. Does taking out the timing chain tensioner out hold the chain up or are bungies the best way to keep the chain from falling down?

The timing chain wont fall down into the area by the crank so dont worry about it. There is a piece of aluminum thats built into the block that keeps the chain from falling all the way down when you pull the cams and head.

Its a pretty crazy situation. The head looks fine. The headgasket looks fine and not blown in any spots. The block looks fine. I'm stumped on how oil got all over the engine bay.

It looks like theres a chunk missing out of piston number 4. I took a crappy picture of it.
