Default another way 100 octane - TORCO

so, my buddy and i were looking at getting a kennbell setup for his 09 stang. we had installed one on a friends 04 stang and it was sick setup.

while on kennebell site, they mentioned that they all run torco fuel accelerator. they did extensive dyno testing and tuning with it and found that to cheat for 102 octane it was the best/cheapest way to do it. basically, for the price of premium gas + about 70 Cents more a gallon you can run 100 octane gas. which last time i past by vp racing fuels was like 8+ bucks a gallon.

basically, you add 32 oz of this stuff to every 10 gallons.

i dont know about u guys, but i fill up every 2 weeks or so. that being said, running some extra timing and getting some more power for 70 cents a gallon is friggin awesome

OCTANE BOOSTERS
Torco - Torco Octane Booster (Accelerator Race Fuel Concentrate) can be purchased in 5 gallon 610 oz containers for $138. That’s $.22/oz which adds $.17/gallon (3 octane) or $.34/gallon for 7 octane. Only $120-$240 for 10000 miles of big HP gains and lots of fun. 16 oz in 20 gallons is 7.0 octane. Note: Increasing the ratio above 32 oz in 20 gallons does not provide increase beyond 7 octane. When comparing octane boosters keep in mind that some advertise “octane POINTS.” It takes 10 POINTS to make one octane. Torco doesn’t contain any lead or alcohol.
since they wrote the article, price went up a bit. the only weird thing is torco site says 32 oz to 10 gallon and kennbell site says 16oz to 10 gallon. hmm.

edited slightly, the site says you can hit 102 from 91 octane pump, so i would presume 104 from 93, but i just put 100 since i think thats realistic.

i am trying to find a local place to try this stuff.

whatcha all think?

cheapest i found so far.

if the mix is twice as much as kennbell's site represents, then your looking at 1.40 a gallon extra. still way cheaper then 100octane race gas.

edited again, toluene that was mentioned below is way cheaper.

i edited it a bit, and i will contact kennbell to see if he still feels good about it, and what mix they use to get what octane.

email sent to kennebell to see if they still support this method and if they still use the mixture quoted above to gain 7 octane.

i just foudn this which doesnt show torco to be what its claimed. hmm, still looking some more.

we've been using the torco additive for years now. it always worked great! they have leaded and unleaded addative for what ever reason you need lead for.

from everythiung i see, you get 98.5 from 93 with a 32oz to 10 gallon mix.

in your using of it, can you honestly say you were able to run more timing or more boost with it? i cant run more boost, but i wanna run more timing if this crap really works. 4.40 ish a gallon for 98.5 is not bad at all.

wouldnt it be cheaper to run either 50/50 meth/water or even pure meth?

heres a test that wasa done.

32 oz in 91 octane became 96.5. doing stupid math add 2 so 32 oz shoud turn 93 into 98.5. so more like 4.40 total per gallon if you pay 3 for 93 octane. still not bad, and so far only one person couldnt get good performance, but a lot did.

still reading.

meth cost about 8 bucks a gallon, if i ran 50/50 its 4 bucks per container. its cheaper then torco, just not sure what the overall octane rating is when you run it.

very possibly its cheaper per gallon. but torco is cheaper then race gas 100 which many do buy. hmmm, still reading on it.
