Default Any Options to Quiet the Fuel Pump?

Hey guys,

Finally got the car back on the road after a long winter.

I'm trying to figure out a solution to quiet down the Aeromotive 1000 pump that is currently in the car. The constant noise is starting to wear on me a little bit, and I'm trying to find a halfway solution.

Has anyone had any experience cutting down the in cabin noise that the pump makes? Would rubber mounts help to reduce the amount of vibrations/noise that's transferred into the cabin?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

yes, rubber mounts help a bunch. www.mcmaster.com has them in different durometers. the msd ones from summit are stiff and not worth it. its best to get the ones that are "male" on both sides so you dont have to thread a bolt into the actual rubber.

what was the question again? i started to look at the bottom of your post...lol
maybe try the rubber mounts and really i would think you would need to make a box with some kind of sound deadning inside of it.

Jiggly boobs cause nothing but problems, lol.

A louder exhaust should remedy the issue.

I don't think it could get much louder than the Inline Pro exhaust that's on the car right now. That think is tastelessly loud.

I'm going to be DDing the car this summer, so I just want to make sure that it's not going to drive me insane with a loud fuel pump.

Redboost, I took a quick look through mcmaster, but wasn't exactly sure what I should be looking at.

Would you be able to point me in the right direction/towards the right mount?

They are called vibration mounts. Try to do a search for that. On my phone right now or I'd help you more.

http://www.mcmaster.com/#catalog/117/1368/=bufvor

pg 1368-1369 on www.mcmaster.com

here is a chart to determine what durometer you'd like to use (i.e. pencil eraser is like 70-80 durometer, tire is around 90, blah blah blah)
