According to NHRA rules, you need an SFI certified crank pulley harmonic balancer after 10.99. Do we have any companies that make one for our car? Fluidamper? ATI? What are you guys running that are faster that 10.99? Thanks!

I spoke with Jeremy Allen about this and the K series ATI damper bolts up to our motors, the timing marks are just off a bit. So you'd have to put a new timing mark on the pulley, but it does bolt up. Not that big of a deal, this is the option I'm going with for now.

Other than that, there is nothing else available.

There are 2 available, a street and race version. One has groove for an accessory belt, and one doesn't.

When we were assembling a f20c motor we had a K-series pulley that was next to the f20c stuff. We could not figure out why the mark would not line up at the pulley but everything else was at tdc. Turns out we had accidently grabbed the K-series pulley. We measured and measured and found that the K-series pully had a different offset. If you slid the k-series pully on the the f20c crank, it will only go on about half way. Not sure how the ATI one is but thats what we found with the stock one.

I just emailed ATI, I will await their response on making a pulley specific for the S2000.

I already talked to ATI about making a damper for the S2000. They told me they didn't know how long it will take, and don't know how much it'll cost. He just said it will take awhile and be expensive.....haha. No shit, that's what he said.

Who knows, maybe multiple inquiries about this will wake them up to the fact that they need to make one for the S2000. Especially since NHRA mandates you have one. I would think they'd love to be the only manufacturer making one for our cars???

Probably literally 15 cars in total that would buy it or even need it though. Thats got to be what they see

I would bet their would be more than that.

There are other benefits to using a damper other than just for rules, and the F20/22 motor is being used in a lot of different chassis'

I would think their would be just as much interest for an S2k one as their would be one for a Triumph TR, Jaguar, Mini Cooper, Subaru, Scion, or an H-series Honda. ATI makes dampers for all of those applications....haha.

Funny thing is, this is the 3rd car I have built where I needed an SFI damper, and no one made one. I used to race an H-Series honda, EJ series Subaru, and now the F20/22 motors. They came out with the H and EJ series like a couple months after I got rid of my car. I was never tech'd for not having one, but it is nice to know you meet all the rules.

We were told about $700 and 60-90 days for one.
