S2000 Forced Induction S2000 Turbocharging and S2000 supercharging, for that extra kick.

Anyone get cold feet before install/tune?

Tuning has always made me nervous and I have no idea why. As many redline shifts and runs through the gears i've made, I sit and worry over the car sitting there getting run through 1 gear getting tuned. If you say it that way it doesn't sound so bad. Good luck guy.

Haha thanks for the words of encouragement guys - good to know I'm not the only one

There's all these little last minute expenses that pop up, and the anticipation of it taking so long (and worrying about it sitting on a dyno while it redlines through each gear) just gets the heart pounding pretty hard.

I always wanted an S2000 so I bought one in March 05. I've always wanted a turbo in every car I've owned, and my dream is finally coming true

Just got off the phone with him - he confirmed that it should be done by Monday night!!! If so I'll be tuning on Wednesday most likely.

I feel your pain.

Car was down a year. Long story.

Blown two HG at 2500- then another 2700 miles.

Have become quite the HG changer.
Last head was not machined right, hence blowing the 2nd time.
First time not sure why.

At least I got a whole bunch of cooling mods this time. Hate living in Hell.

ARP headstuds.

First HG was cometic in stock thickness. (I have 8:75 Compression)

Second is OEM, new one on the car is OEM as well. (waiting for Temp gauge before I turn it over)

I am really not sure what blew the HG first time. I did have a problem with the first tune. (It has been settled between parties involved).
Am having it tuned when everyone is ready to hit the dyno. (they are at the dragon and waiting on FedEx)

So with a spoon therm and fan switch, oil cooler, and Temp gauge I will be able to monitor everything. ( I will have 5 gauges placed everywhere)

Sounds like what I will be running. Kinda scary.
I will have the 3mm cometic and ARP studs. I hope it works out I can't afford another 4 grand.

I have been at this for quite a while. Will post up how it goes later.

Just take your time. That is what I learned.

The first time that my car was on the dyno getting tuned after I spent so long installing everything I thought that my motor was going to blow a rod or a piston out of the block also. When the motor SCREAMED for the first time under WOT with full boost and an open wastegate I thought the head was going to blow off of the block! I think I was more scared from installation error, but I also had the feeling that the tuner could possibly F up. Don't worry about it though if you picked a good tuner, you should be fine.

I wish I knew how to do it on my own I can do easy bolting stuff like diff swaps and whatnot, but there's no way I could change a clutch or install a headgasket.
If you can read and you have a Helms Manual, I don't understand why you can't do it yourself.

Your posts always seem so negative...

I am in school Mon-Thurs and average 8 hours a day at school. I work three jobs, which are on Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat, Sun. I have zero days off per week. I MIGHT have a day off once a month.

I simply do not have the time to do it, or the tools. It'd cost me several hundred to buy the tools, and probably 2 or 3 months to finish the install due to my tight schedule. I love doing work when I get a chance, but there aren't ANY active turbo members in my local club (all N/A or supercharged) and I've not only never worked on any forced induction vehicle, but I've never owned one before either.

The hardest thing I've ever done is swap two differentials, which isn't even that hard.

In the past 5 weeks, I've easily made the money for the installation of everything, and now I'll get to enjoy my car much sooner.

Yeah, I'd have loved to do it myself perhaps with another turbo owning member, but again, I only know one local member with a turbo and he had it all installed for him as well.
