Default anyone run no filter on their turbo?

i am in the process of making a little airbox for the filter kinda like the k&n box but closed except the top. for the hell of it i fired it up with no filter on the intake and hit the two step. WOW!!! it was so much louder, went around the block, ripped second and broke traction. nothin out of the ordinary but i could definately tell a little difference and the sound is amazing. i forgot what my gt40r sounded like on my civic lol.

does anyone run no filter DD or just for racing?? i know its better to so this has me thinking about ditching the puny 3" intake pipe and filter for a 4"

I am sure there are quite a few people that run just a velocity stack with no filter or just a small screen.

If you are really in need of that extra hypothetical 10hp, then up the boost.

im not dying for the extra ten horsepower, but it wouldnt hurt to use it at the track if possible. i decided i will just go with a upgrade on the intake pipe and filter to 4" setup and that should lessen the resritcion enough for my liking on the street. i think it wouldnt hurt to run a couple 1/4 mile runs with the filter off but then again anything could happen

I will say the sound of the Velocity stack is just insane , however I always run a filter. On some cool nights though (sounds better with the denser air) I have taken it off for short drives just to hear it...............
