Default Anyone running a T-61 turbo?

I am have a custom turbo kit made and going with a T-61 dual ball bearing turbo. I was just curious if anyone has one or running a turbo similar in size and what whp # to expect at about 6-9psi, tuned with AEM EMS, 91 pump gas and 3' exhaust all the way through?

Thanks

Speedcraft used a turbonetics 60-1 hifi. They usually made between 270-300whp at 6-8psi. The 60-1 is a huge turbo to run relatively low boost. Otherwise, it's not uncommon for them to make 400-500whp with a low CR motor and decent fuel. 400 on pump/500 race gas.

^ Do you think the T-61 is a ok size turbo at lower boost or would you run a t3/t4? I plan to run stock Compression until a rebuild is needed so I don't think I would go past 9psi.

I think my turbo from UR's gen-2 kit is a 60-1. I made 280 at about 5.5-6psi

The 60-1 is a t3/t4. It's just on the wastegate for a low boost application. The turbo really comes into it's efficiency at higher bost levels.

Are we talking about a T61 or a 60-1 (T3/T4)?

Talking about a T-61. But I also have the option to go with a t3/t4. I just wonder how much more power the T-61 would put down.

I would run a smaller turbo with lower boost levels... you'll be sacrificing spool time with the larger... and unless your looking to be running 10+psi, I wouldn't want to...
