Default ANYONE TURBO'D WITH STOCK INJECTORS

Hi,

i am hoping to go turbo with stock injectors and fuel pump. Obviously low psi tune (with AEM EMS).

I have been reading up on the forums but there is very little info.

Could anyone please advise ?

thanks

Why? Just buy some ID injectors and a fuel pump and then tune it. Sure you could probably do a few psi with stock injectors but what would be the point?

The low PSI supercharger guys use stock injectors, but they have to use a rising rate fuel pressure regulator and they also swap up to at least a Walbro 255 with their kits.

Do the lower boost Greddy turbo kits require injectors/fuel pump? If so, then I would assume that injectors/pump are pretty much necessary as the lower boost Greddy kits are kinda the intro turbo kit.

Even with base vortech kit I was running out if fuel even with walbro fuel pump.

Injectors and pump and tune would be a requirement for turbo unless running maybe 2-3 psi maybe.

If you have the $$$ for AEM EMS, you could get k-pro or hondata AND injectors for not much more than a new Series 2 EMS.

It would be a waste of money to have stock injectors tuned.

Kpro is the most expensive EMS for our cars lol.

Series 1 AEM costs about $700-900 used.

Seriously though, OP if you can't afford an extra $400 on a proper fuel system, stay away from boost. My rough estimates of how much I had to spend for my Comptech supercharger kit are already about $2k over what I had originally allocated and the supercharger isnt even on the car yet.

Good advice here. I started my build saying "I will be smart and stick to a reasonable budget". Wrong. About 4k in and I dont even have my kit in my hands yet and I am looking at doubling that number just to get everything put on the car and ready to be tuned. Not to mention the motor problems I am having before boost I will spend well over 10k to get everything the way I want it.

To answer the OP, the stock fuel system can't supply enough fuel for any boosted application.

Thanks for all the helpful advice it is really appreciated. I have a turbo kit - AEM EMS and uprated fuel pump but am running out of cash for the injectors and
additional kit. Just being impatient and want to get the car boosted for the tail end of the good weather.

I was thinking of approx. 300bhp for 6 months or so until I can get it up to full potential.

My advice, is stop right there.

If you don't have the money for injectors, let alone all the other important things you'll need like tuning. You have no business turbo'ing the vehicle.

Not trying to come off as a dick, but it's the reality.

Save your money until you have enough to not only finish the kit/tune the correct way, but also have money set aside for when things don't go the way you want (which they will most certainly) otherwise you're just asking for trouble.
