Default Anyone using a SC61 .63 for road racing?

Just curious to see how this performs on the track. I'm trying to transition from 1320 to road racing, but i still want some decent power. Don't really want to get too extravagant and get a 3071 or 3076, and the sc61 is nicely priced. TIA for all your opinions

sorry if my previous statement didn't really make sense. Using a SC61 with the smallest available exhaust housing .63. Would using that turbo cause too much lag for road racing. I know its a nice turbo to have if your using it for the quarter mile, but i haven't heard of anyone using it for road racing. Is this making more sense or am i just getting you even more lost???

Translation=

compare these 3 turbo's

Garrett GT3071,GT3076 approx $1300
Vs
Precision SC61 approx 830$

I haven't seen any performance info on a SC61 used on a S2000

Lovefab is using the GT3071 with good results at low boost and stock CR. I'd overlay the 2 compressor maps and find the differences.

in road racing your in the upper rpm range the whole time (at least you should be.) so it shouldnt effect boost.

the .63 is a small turbine housing so lag shouldnt be a problem even on the street. i believe they make a .48 housing but i dont know the rest of the specifics on your turbo-- and that may be a little too much back pressure anyways

What makes a GT3071 $500 more than a SC61?

I have the LoveFab kit with GT3071 and am just interested in the difference.

so with that said, other than spooling up a few hundred RPM's quicker, would you say that the SC61 will work nicely on the track?

if you ever leave a corner at lower than 6k RPM, youll hate the SC61; if not, itll probably do the trick.
