AP2 Turbo Kit
Hi all,
I am new to the s2k world. Just got a 2005 s2000 with 84,000 miles which is my new daily driver. I am looking to putting a turbo and wondering which turbo kit to get.
I would like 500hp to the wheel and reliable. Recommendations? Thank you in advance.

A friend of mine recommended Ballade Sports. But want to hear everyone else's recommendations before I put my money into doing a turbo.

I would advise to stay away from Ballade, especially for a complex project like this where you will need customer service. Their customer service and quality have issues in the past. I didn't write them off based on other people complaining about it until I experienced it first hand. The turbo kit looks pretty decent, actually, but no way I'd chance their quality issues and needing to deal with their customer service for that expensive of a kit. A turbo kit should not be viewed as a bolt-on and forget about it type of deal like an exhaust and a tune.
Generally, it's not advisable to turbo a car that came from the factory as N/A that you plan to daily. You're going to have/need downtime to get things up and running to start off with. Then you will probably have teething issues to deal with. You're adding a lot of power and heat to a car/system that was not intended to deal with it. There are other things to address like clutch and cooling. Then if you really want to be able to run the car, differentials and transmissions become a weak point.
What tuning solution are you planning to go with? What fueling system do you plan to use? Do you know how that impacts emissions in your state? What is your budget? What clutch are you going to use? Any cooling mods? If the car is down for any period of time, do you have something else to drive to work?
