Default Arrg, Boost and Emissions

Before getting my North Carolina(NC) Inspection I put my OTC code Scan Tool in place to check that everything was alright. This was the morning after putting 400 miles on the car. Battery condition is good, it never ran down over the summer, car always started.

I have SOS stage 2, 3.8" pulley on a 1200 Paxton. Berk HiFlow cat(5K miles on it), Tanabe exhaust, all O2 sensors are in place, 1000CC injectors, HondataFlashPro.

In NC a 2006 can fail one check but not two. Well my scan tool showed I failed (inc) on Catalyst Mon, Evap System Mon, and Oxygen Sens Mon.

If I can clear the cat and oxygen sensor I can live with Evap System. So do you think I have to replace my Cat or an Oxygen Sensor. There are two Oxygen sensors, how do you know which one is bad?

I'm going to say neither your O2 or cat is at fault. If the O2 sensor was bad, you'll get a check engine light (which I dont believe you have). And the CEL has distinct codes for front/rear O2 sensor. There's even a code if your cat isnt working right based on how much 'emmisions' it sniffs.

First thing that comes to mind is the Flashpro itself. There a known issue of not getting the Flashpro to get in the ready state. Google it. I had the below link in my history, see the last post:

One brute force attempt is to undo the Flashpro, revert ECU to stock and see if it goes away. You probably have aftermarket injectors, but its a quick swap.

What was the code number thrown for the o2 sensor? It'll usually say Bank 1 sensor 1 or Bank 1 sensor 2. Sensor 2 is the sensor in the catalytic converter. Also, the S2000's diagnostic system isn't so much dependant on mileage driven as it is on full heating and cooling cycles. Basically, the car will run a full diagnostics check within two or three driving cycles, as long as the engine reaches full operating temperature and then fully cools between trips. Typically, you will get the catalytic converter and the Bank 1 Sensor 2 codes at the same time, as they are related. Can't you "turn off" the secondary o2 sensor using flash pro to where it won't show in a scan?

Wally, clear the codes on the car to reset all of the monitors. Then let the car sit until it's cold (at least 6 hours). The cat and evap monitors won't run unless the coolant and air temp are within 10° on start up. Start the car and go for an EASY drive. If all of your emissions components are working correctly it should run all but 1 monitor within 20 minutes. If it doesn't run enough to pass then I'd be looking at either the Flashpro or HFC as a possible issue. I just had to get clarkster's car through VA emissions.

PM or text me if you need more help.

You need to make sure the o2 sensors code p0420, and evap systems are turned on in the flashpro

Thanks man. I do not have any codes to clear, no CEL. My Scan Tool just shows a "inc" in the areas mentioned. As you know there is no way to clear an incomplete. No offense but I am not even going down the path of trying to get the codes to clear by driving around. I drove the car all summer long so if the "inc" were not cleared by now they are not going to. The Flashpro firmware update looks like my best option. Second option is stripping all the parts and burning what is left.

Here is good link for the FlashPro issues:

So totally de-couple the Flashpro from the car. Remove SC belt, put in original injectors and leave everything else the same? I guess I could try this if the firmware does not work as I will be stripping parts before I torch the car any way.

Don't forget to put the oem map sensor back on as well if you changed that.
