I'd be curious to see if you had oil in the turbine housing while using the circular flange.

My turbo is off the car and out to precision because it had some weird vibration since day one that i ruled out it had to be the turbo. I didnt have any oil in the turbine housing. Though, the new flange looks way better than the circular one anyways. So il be swapping it when i get the turbo back.

I have heard of the oil pooling in there. This is a good thread. Thanks for sharing.
Mine occasionally smokes as well but ends up clearing out eventually.
