That is probably one of your problems, mine were gapped pretty low, 023".
You guys need to quit band aiding your stock ignition. Just get an AEM Twin fire and pencil coils and never worry about your ignition again.
~$600 retail investment seems pretty cheap to never have to worry about ignition issues again.
My two cents.
Good luck with your goals.

If I have any issues with spark blowout on e85 with my BKR8eix's gapped at .023", I'll be going with the AEM setup.
Good luck on your quest man.
I believe I am at a little over 700 whp at 29 psi and 19 deg of timing at the top on e85 but were were unable to get it on the dyno before 3rd gear took a crap. Even before 3rd gear broke and at 24 psi on e85 (3-4 psi less than with 110 fuel) it felt like it did at 27-28 psi on 110 fuel at 650 whp. I hope to have it on the dyno and the tune finished within a few weeks. We did notice that the pumps were starting to run out on 24 psi of boost and so I'll have to pull them and push the relief valves in so they can hold higher fuel pressure.
