Default Been browsing on sc S2K in classified....

Seems like there are a lot for sale in the Classified forum and not many have found a new home.

I'm in the market for a used S2K once my R1 is sold.
With all these mods done to those SC s2k and priced in the $22000 range, its sad to see they are still for sale. Why is that? Reliability issue? CEL/misfires?

Is the market that bad for modified vehicles or just in general used S2k?
Ive been looking locally as well and the ones at the used dealership tends to sit around

I cant wait to get my hands on a 2004+ slightly modified one!

I've noticed that most folks tend to shy away from modded cars, for various reasons. Personally, seeing a modded car for sale (such as one with an S/C) makes me hesitant to buy, as I wouldn't know how the car was treated during its life. Usually, with a car like that, I'd ask for service records and have the motor inspected by a dealership (or dealer-authorized repair shop, at the very least).

It's all based on fear or the unknown. That what you get with every used car though.

I would never sell a highly modified car - no way you will ever get fair value. On top of that, November is not the best time to try and sell a summer car, even in warmer climates. Not too hard to figure out with two strikes against them.........

if the car was cared for and rarely driven (like most S2k's) then you would be fine. Just have it checked out like any other car.
